melinen aka
daishimel
Genre: general, double drabble

Rating: G
Pairings: DiexShinya
Synopsis: For Shinya, innocence is a mask, something he can so conveniently use as an excuse to hide himself. -- For Die, innocence is something that keeps him away from Shinya, not physically but mentally.
Comments: A double drabble from last night when I just couldn't sleep. So I wrote instead. And I was aiming at a real drabble, but well, maybe next time with better luck. ^^
For Shinya, innocence is a mask, something he can so conveniently use as an excuse to hide himself. It goes well with the silence and secrecy, he has noticed along the years.
For Die, innocence is something that keeps him away from Shinya, not physically but mentally. He knows he is close to Shinya, closer than their band mates, but he wishes to break through the shell the drummer has created around himself.
Cold, distant, gentle, loving: that is Terachi Shinya. An enigma Die wants to solve.
Die has always loved challenges. Because after all, that is what his friend is to him, isn’t he? Close to him but still so far away whenever Die reaches out to touch Shinya, that polite yet somewhat confused expression on his features – something the guitarist wants to wipe off so badly, to replace it with true emotion.
Sometimes Shinya offers him a soft smile, the simple gesture enough to give Die the hope he needs to keep trying. And trying is what he does, day after another, for that is all he has. Maybe someday the effort really is enough and they can reach the next level, together.
At least he can hope.
